CWA Of Victoria East Gippsland Group A vibrant Association aiming to improve conditions by community service particularly affecting women

21/10/2026

Our hearts go out to Helen Haines MP, her family and everyone across the Wangaratta community and Indi electorate during this difficult time.

Wangaratta and the surrounding region are home to many of our CWA members, making this news particularly close to home.

We send our love and support to Helen, her family and everyone affected. 💚

Wow! Just, Wow! What a great community initiative.

Wow! Just, Wow! What a great community initiative.

An amazing effort by the CWA ladies almost 800 cheese toastie sandwiches made this week. 180 sandwiches made at our meeting for our Little Lunches program feeding kindergarten children across Morwell and Churchill. Then today 600 sandwiches for the Eat Up program with Morwell Rotary Club and thanks to Morwell Historical Society for use of the kitchen. Community working together.

A huge thank you to our wonderful CWA of Victoria members for once again getting behind DV Safe Phone

Thanks to the generosity of members across Victoria, 97 used mobile phones have been donated to help support people experiencing domestic and family violence.

This is in addition to the 118 mobile phones donated at our State Conference earlier this year.

Recently, past CWA of Victoria State President Jenny Nola presented the phones to Tanya Likar, Constituent Manager for Jo Briskey MP, Member for Maribyrnong.

Every donated phone has the potential to provide someone with a vital connection to safety, support and emergency services when they need it most.

💜 Thank you to everyone who donated a phone and helped make this possible.

Thank you to the team at Channel 9 News for shining a spotlight on the incredible volunteers behind the CWA of Victoria Cafeteria at the Melbourne Royal Show.

While our famous scones often steal the show, every cup of tea served, every meal prepared and every volunteer shift contributes to something much bigger. Funds raised through the Cafeteria help support the CWA of Victoria's work with vulnerable women, children and families across the state.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, who generously give their time, energy and hospitality to make this long-standing Melbourne Royal Show tradition possible.

If you're heading to the Show, be sure to stop by the CWA Cafeteria for a delicious home-style meal, our famous scones and a warm welcome.

And if you missed last night's story, you can watch it here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1JMgv358t4/

This was last year’s scone tally. Can you help us beat this? See you at the Melbourne Royal Show 2026

💙 Thank You 💙

As the curtain closes on another incredible Melbourne Royal Show, we want to send a heartfelt thank you — to our amazing CWA of Victoria members who volunteered their time, energy and talent over the past 11 days.

A big thank you also goes to the thousands of show-goers who visited the CWA Cafeteria to share a scone (or two!) with us. 🫶

Your support helps us continue our vital work supporting vulnerable women, children and families across the state.

We couldn’t do it without you. 💐
