We had a PET-tacular time at PBS SoCal's Talking Neighbor to Neighbor event in Orange County!

Together, we welcomed 130 attendees for a morning of conversation, resources, activities, and connection centered on people, pets, and our community. This event highlighted the importance of animal companionship and offered residents of our interim housing communities in Orange County an opportunity to connect with the broader community and access resources for their furry family members.

Thank you to all the organizations and community partners who made this event a reality, including United to End Homelessness Orange County! We especially loved the celebrity appearance from Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Our friends at Big Sunday packed and donated 100 bags filled with non-perishable food to support PATH participants! ❤️

These bags help provide individuals and families with pantry staples and easy-to-prepare meals, helping keep food on the table while they work toward greater stability. Each bag also included a handmade note card with a message of encouragement, adding a personal touch.

Meet Jana, a resident of PATH’s Connections Housing community in San Diego. At 65, Jana is grateful to have a safe, stable place to call home after experiencing homelessness for several years.

After ending a relationship, she began couch surfing and eventually fell into homelessness, living in Balboa Park for over two years with her dogs. She later connected with PATH and was able to move into Connections Housing, in part because the community is pet friendly. Today, Jana is happy, healthy, and takes great care of her three dogs, Bonnie, Clyde, and Junior. She wants people to understand that homelessness is incredibly difficult, especially for women living unsheltered.

With the support of her case manager at PATH, Jana is now living with stability and a renewed sense of community. 🏡

Providing healthy, nourishing meals is an essential part of our interim housing program. Across PATH’s three new interim housing communities, residents and staff have been coming together for BBQs and a chance to connect, get to know one another, and make our newest communities feel a little more like home. 🏠

Meet Levin! 💙 Before connecting with PATH, Levin faced the uncertainty of homelessness, where each day was spent searching for safety, meeting basic needs, and navigating the challenges of life without a stable place to call home.

Everything began to change when Levin connected with PATH Santa Clara County. Working alongside his case manager, Dina, he gained access to the support, resources, and guidance needed to begin rebuilding his life.

Today, Levin is focused on obtaining important identification documents, strengthening his financial stability, prioritizing his health, and continuing to build a strong foundation for the future.

Good food, great partnerships, meaningful impact! 💙🍽️ Thanks to The Garlington Foundation, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Access DMC, and Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach for helping provide hundreds of pounds of nutritious meals to our PATH communities! 🙌

✨ Ah-mazing! ✨ Following Tuesday’s successful distribution with Access DMC, Hyatt Regency, & Rescuing Leftover Cuisine,The Foundation returned this morning to collect and deliver 38 pans of food to People Assisting the Homeless - PATH in support of individuals experiencing homelessness. Big thanks to Ty from PATH for answering the call today.

🍴 Thursday’s generous selection included:

🌮 Beef and chicken fajitas with tortillas
🍚 Beans and rice
🥗 Fresh salads, radishes, and couscous
🍗 Grilled chicken breasts
🍵 Matcha tart desserts
🍫 COTA desserts

✨ Through our Tuesday and Thursday distributions, we were able to transform approximately 780 lbs of surplus food into meaningful community support, ensuring that delicious, freshly prepared meals could nourish individuals and families rather than go to waste. This is huge!

✨ A heartfelt THANK YOU to Access DMC and Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach for their generosity and commitment to giving back. Your contributions have made a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

✨ We’re equally grateful to Rescuing Leftover Cuisine for coordinating these opportunities and to PATH for their continued dedication to supporting our unhoused neighbors.
