ASAP Empowers Since 1994, ASAP has been working to cultivate self-reliance and cross-cultural understanding through entrepreneurship and education projects.

ASAP was created by two returned Peace Corps volunteers who met and married while teaching high school in rural Africa. Through this experience they gained an understanding of how so little can do so much! How truly life changing access to education can be for a girl whose family only has enough money to send her brothers to school. How a basic set of tools for a vocational school graduate means the difference between a productive life and a life of poverty. How a woman who was but a powerless victim, with no voice in her home, becomes empowered with confidence when she earns her own money by joining an ASAP savings club.

ASAP cultivates self-reliance through education and entrepreneurship projects. In Zimbabwe and Malawi ASAP has helped over 80,000 families increase their income and household security through Internal Savings and Lending. By integrating agriculture, health maintenance, HIV/AIDS awareness and vocational skills with IS&L, ASAP addresses the root causes of poverty.
