Join the Halton Environmental Network for a free, hands-on community tree-planting event at the Oakville Food Forest! Together, we’ll create a greener, more resilient space that supports local food, biodiversity, climate action, and community connection. 💚🌎

📍 Kinsford Gardens - 2480 Sherwood Heights Dr., Oakville

No experience is needed - just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to dig in! We’ll provide shovels, gloves, snacks, drinks, and a pizza lunch. 🍕🧤 Volunteer hours are also available.

There’s something deeply rewarding about planting a tree and knowing your work will provide food, habitat, shade, and connection for years to come. This important work helps build healthier communities and a more climate-resilient future - one tree at a time. 🌿

📢 Applications are being accepted for OakvilleReady’s Community Climate Action Grant (ORCCA)

🌱Up to $3500 is available
⏰Applications are being accepted until July 31st!

Eligible projects are community-benefitting ideas that help Oakville stay safe during extreme weather — like flooding, high winds, and heat — or that reduce energy use and emissions.

This year’s focus is on supporting buildings with practical, resident-ready upgrades, such as adding outdoor shade (trees, naturalization, awnings), improving indoor cooling (ceiling fans, window coverings, portable AC), creating shared community gardens, or providing emergency preparedness supplies.

Join us for a community planting event at the Acton Community Garden (Prospect Park, Acton) on Saturday, May 30 from 10am to 12pm — and help us grow a healthier, greener neighbourhood!

We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand with planting and garden care. No experience needed — just come dressed for the weather and ready to get your hands a little dirty.
