The Garden Gnome Society at Highland Hall The Garden Gnome Society at Highland Hall is families, friends & community who financially support our school biodynamic farm and gardening program.

We see our farm and garden as the beautiful, living heart of our school. It can be a welcoming source of inspiration, wisdom, and nourishment to the students, families, instructors, parents, staff and our local community. It should give to our children an understanding of the source and nutritional value of real food, wholesome sensory experiences, healthy physical activity, a strong sense of comm

unity, and positive environmental awareness. Past projects have included installing drip irrigation systems in the orchard and raised beds and the installation of a sink and water fountain. In 2013, we helped fund the Zen Garden in the high school courtyard, which includes a flow-form fountain and koi pond. We have purchased over a dozen fruit trees for the orchard, as well as native plants, which now thrive throughout our campus. We also helped fund the creation of our Medieval Dye and Fiber Gardens. It is our goal to help the farm to become as self-sustaining as possible, relying less on donations and more on its own production of radiantly healthy biodynamic compost, vegetables, fruit and eggs.
