As you know, my family and I recently lost our home and everything in it from a devastating fire. Although the challenges I have faced at home in the past few weeks have seemed unimaginable, I never let them get in the way of my pursuit of college. Surely, the strength of heart and high value of education I came to know at Cristo Rey was no match for the material possessions I lost. The first place I came to on the morning after the fire was Cristo Rey. Immediately I felt the comfort and love I needed. However, I would have never imagined the caring and support that would come from beyond the school's walls. Even from afar, your generosity has made a difference. Your gift means much more than you could ever imagine. What you have done will not only allow me to attend college in a few weeks, but will be remembered forever. Now, more than ever, I am looking forward to attending college in Florida and I could not have done it without your help.
