Ilé Aña Olofí wants us to work together to strengthen & share the beauty of African Diaspora religious traditions while using them to create pathways for positive change. It represents what I see as the most important pillars of the Lucumi religion as it has developed up to today. Aña, the Orisa of the drum, and Olofi, the Orisha manifesting the Almighty. With Aña, every Olorisha must undergo a sacred, ritual presentation to Aña. Aña announces the new priest to the heavens and confirms their initiation. With Olofí, every man that seeks to become a Babalawo must see this Orisha. Without these two Orisa, our religions would not have grown, at least as we know and love it. I choose these two Orisha for the name of my Ile as I have been very blessed to have received both Aña and Olofí. They are the foundation of my life as much as the foundation for the Lucumi religion.
