Trans Women of Color Collective To uplift the narratives, leadership and lived experiences of trans people of color while building towards the collective liberation of all oppressed people
(2)

Historically, trans women of color have been the catalyst of change for social justice movements. Historically, we have been discarded, counted out and left behind by many who are trusted with our care. Trans women of color are disproportionately under-employed, under-housed and impacted by discriminatory practices. In spite of the obstacles we face, Trans women of color are resourceful, educated,

resilient and quite capable to lead our movement. We must lead our movement; it is our destiny! We celebrate our sisterhood. Our struggles unite us. We acknowledge the lack of trans led initiatives that center healing, restoration, fellowship and action. We are in solidarity to fill that void.

Location: Kansas City Missouri, Westport Neighborhood. (Hybrid)

TWOCC is hiring a Paid Executive Assistant to help keep things moving behind the scenes. This role touches scheduling, communications, and the work that keeps our programs and events running.

This is for someone who can stay organized, move with urgency, and care about the work as much as the community.

Missouri and Kansas showed up!
This was the first resource fair in our region led by a Black trans woman-led organization, and it mattered.

Over 30 organizations, real resources, and community moving together across Kansas and Missouri. Not just an event, but a response to what our people are facing and a reminder of what we can build together.

Thank you to everyone who pulled up, tabled, volunteered, and supported. Thank you to our partners for showing up with care.

This is just the start.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS 🗣️🎨🏳️‍⚧️

TWOCC is looking for artists, creatives, and makers to table at our Level Up Trans Day of Visibility Resource Fair on March 31.

We’re creating space for all artists to showcase their work, connect with community, and share what they’re building.

We especially encourage Black, trans, and gender‑expansive artists to be in the room 💙

If you make art, sell products, do hair, create music, or have something to share — pull up and bring your work.

We’ll also have a limited number of easels available to display artwork (first come, first served).

This is about visibility, access, and community.

Wrap Them in Warmth: Kansas City Winter Clothing Drive ❄️🧣🧥

Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority Incorporated has launched its nationwide Wrap Them in Warmth Winter Clothing Drive — and TWOCC is proud to serve as the Kansas City drop-off site. We’re calling on our KC community to show up for our trans and q***r neighbors who are navigating housing insecurity this winter.

How Kansas City Can Support
• Drop off donations at TWOCC: Bring new or gently used winter items to our Kansas City location during open hours.
• Share your support: Take a photo when you drop off items and tag K.I.S.S. and TWOCC to help spread the word.
• Need help getting items to us? We may be able to arrange a local pickup for community members who cannot travel.

Questions or need to coordinate a drop-off or pickup? Contact Korea at [email protected].
