Every right our communities hold today was won, not given. Generations before us organized, marched, and fought for equal protection, birthright citizenship, and the freedom to vote.

Now those victories are under attack, and we cannot allow them to be rolled back. At Popular Democracy, we’re organizing alongside communities across the country to defend what our elders fought for and to build a democracy where everyone has a voice, and everyone belongs.

Gas is averaging about $4.43 a gallon right now. A 15-gallon fill-up is roughly $66.50. At the $7.25 federal minimum wage, that's more than 9 hours of pay before taxes, just to fill the tank!
And for most people, driving isn't optional: 69.2% of U.S. workers drove alone to work in 2024.

Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez was delivering food when an ICE agent shot him, leaving a bullet lodged near his spine.
Last year, ICE hired 12,000 new agents without vetting them properly, then tried to quietly fire them when red flags emerged. Many of the new ICE agents had a history of violent and erratic behavior, including some with criminal violations. Most of these agents are still on the streets.
The agent who shot Garcés Pérez is one of those new recruits.

This November, vote for leaders who will not fund this death machine and will do what is needed to protect our friends and families.

On Tuesday, over 100 Mainers gathered outside Senator Susan Collins’ Biddeford office with one message: Johan’s blood is on your hands.

Collins voted to hand ICE $70 billion. Weeks later, an ICE agent killed Johan Sebastián Guerrero.

We showed up not just for Johan, but for every family living in fear.

Come November, we must hold accountable every lawmaker who chose to fund our neighbors’ suffering over their safety.

Rep. Anna Paulia Luna voted for the Big Ugly Bill that will gut $1 trillion from Medicaid and strip healthcare away from 1.5 million Floridians. We agree that Jimothy should be protected at all costs. But if Jimothy were a person, his healthcare would be at risk. And Anna Paulina Luna would be cheering it on.
