Chico Stewardship Network A grassroots movement to restore the empowerment of communities to regain "We the People" principles of engagement and collaboration

The idea behind the Chico Stewardship Network is that ‘The best governance is self governance’. Margaret Thatcher said that all that is required for democracy to succeed is for a set of vigorous virtues to be widely distributed among the people. Primary to these virtues is a sense of responsibility for self that leads to a sense of responsibility for the whole. Put another way…”maximum personal liberty in the context of the common good”. The Chico Stewardship Network is undertaking to encourage this form of ‘governance’ through the development of Community Alliance Structures and Community Leadership Teams designed to bring the hands and hearts of Chico’s Citizens into partnership with our cultural institutions to address social, economic and infrastructure issues.
