The future of mobility: Can we really get there?

AET’s Transport & Mobility Forum (TMF) is pleased to open its 2026 webinar series with a special inaugural address by an AET Fellow.
In this first TMF webinar of the year, Michael Bach (UK), AET Council member and Fellow since 2023, reflects on his distinguished career as a planner and consultant. His talk tackles a fundamental question for the future of mobility: Can we meaningfully reduce the need to travel through a more integrated approach to land-use and transport policy, and in doing so help achieve our sustainability goals?

Daniëlle Snellen (PBL, NL), AET Board Member, will respond to Michael’s reflections and guide the discussion as moderator. The session will be hosted by Christopher Cary (Atkins, UK) and chaired by András Munkácsy (KTI, HU) on behalf of the TMF Working Group.

This free webinar promises a thoughtful and engaging discussion, with time for audience views and debate.
