Media Coalition and Awareness to Halt Trafficking

Media Coalition and Awareness to Halt Trafficking MeCAHT is an international initiative working with partners to reduce the incidences of human trafficking in Nigeria, South Africa and Europe.

MeCAHT exists to support current government & private sector efforts as we consolidate on the gains of democracy and our nations' anti human trafficking policy. This is an initiative of Media Village in partnership with KIT and the Danish Mission Council Development Department (DMCDD) Denmark. We care for the ‘Treasures’ (those in prostitution and trafficking) through showing them the love of Christ. We do awareness, advocacy, rehabilitation, reintegration and capacity building.

MeCAHT is extremely proud of all the SAFE-MIT educators across Nigeria who give their time each week to teach students about the dangers of irregular migration. The Migrant Project is a collaborative effort made possible by the European Union and ICMPD. It uses interactive games and problem-solving challenges to engage and empower secondary schools with life-saving knowledge for their communities.

To the men who show up, day in and day out, for those around them...we see you. To the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, leaders and mentors who lead the next generation...we honor you. To anyone who sets an example, shows compassion and never gives up...we respect you. Thank you for making a difference in this world. Happy Father's Day from MeCAHT!

We had a beautiful session yesterday with 20 widows in Ketti community under the Resilient Project for Widows and Orphans funded by World Challenge.

The session focused on What It Means to Be a Disciple. The widows were encouraged to follow Christ daily by trusting God, obeying His Word, showing love, forgiving others, and reflecting the character of Jesus in their homes and communities.

The session ended with a time of prayer, where the widows prayed for strength to remain faithful to Christ and continue growing in their walk with Him.

After the discipleship class, food items were distributed to the widows, showing God's love in a practical way. Through this project, we continue to care for both the spiritual and physical needs of vulnerable widows.

We are grateful to World Challenge for partnering with us to bring hope, encouragement, and practical support to the widows of Ketti Community.

This week, under the Resilient Project for Widows and Orphans funded by World Challenge through MeCAHT, we held a discipleship session with orphaned children in Ketti Community.

They learned about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Using Luke 9:23–24, they were encouraged to follow Jesus daily, obey His teachings, and develop Christ-like character by showing love, kindness, humility, and obedience in their daily lives.

The session helped them understand that being a disciple is more than believing in Jesus—it is becoming more like Him every day. After the teaching and prayer session, food items were distributed to them. This reflects the project's commitment to caring for both the spiritual and physical needs of vulnerable children.

We are grateful to World Challenge for making it possible to bring hope, discipleship, and practical support to these children.

MeCAHT celebrates another successful gathering of a Counter Human Trafficking Club, made possible through partnership with the Austrian Embassy of Abuja. The Gwagwalada chapter is an example of how students gather in schools around Nigeria as part of our educational outreach efforts to combat human trafficking.

Beyond creating awareness, these clubs serve as sustainable platforms for continuous learning and peer education. They utilize a proprietary training manual for secondary school students which was developed by MeCAHT, in conjunction with the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), to educate students on human trafficking and its dangers.
