Healing is not only about reducing risk. It is also about strengthening the conditions that help children and adult survivors feel safe, connected and supported.

Promising Futures (Futures Without Violence) identifies five protective factors for survivors of domestic violence:

1. Safer and more stable conditions
2. Social connections
3. Resilience and a growth mindset
4. Nurturing parent-child interactions
5. Social and emotional abilities

It was wonderful to connect with our North Carolina colleagues in person at Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina’s 32nd Annual Reflections: Symposium at Lake Junaluska!

SRCAC’s Lydia Johnson Grady presented a two-part session on responding to suicidality at CACs, as well as “Empowering MDT Facilitators: The Supervisor’s Role.”

Thank you to CACNC for hosting and to everyone who joined the conversations. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside you!

Today we got to see our friend Lydia from Southern Regional Children's Advocacy Center! We love getting to see the 3D version of folks that we spend a lot of time with, but only on zoom.

Our work thrives with connection, support, and skill sharing, while we are so incredibly thankful for the ways that technology lets us connect with people near and far, we’re extra grateful when we get to connect in person 💙
