Giordano Food Pantry Non-Profit Non-Denominational Food Pantry helping the poor and needy of the community in Bayonne, N.J. With the help of the parishioners at O.L.A.

The Ann and Bill Giordano Food Pantry was started in 1976 By Deacon Bill Giordano, with the help of his wife, Ann. In 1976, there were only 7 people who showed up to receive a bag of food. Today, we help over 130 families every month, distributing bags of food on a monthly basis. In addition, we distribute used coats in the winter, and turkey dinners at Thanksgiving. In 2011, the Pantry was renamed in honor of Bill and his wife. Sadly, Deacon Bill passed away in May of that year due to ALS. Today, the pantry is run by his friends and co-chairpersons, Janice Machin and Marianne Silvani. They made a promise to Bill to carry on his life's work of helping the poor and needy in Bayonne, N.J. A recent addition to the Food Pantry will soon come to fruition. Janice and Marianne are creating an Emergency Relief Room. This room will contain used goods, clothes, appliances, and toys, to help victims of disasters, for instance, families who lose their belongings due to fires or floods, or battered woman restarting their lives. church, local businesses in Bayonne, and private donations, the pantry has now been open for 37 years. We have never turned anyone away and have always provided the help that was needed to anyone who asked.
