Cooroy Pomona Lions Club "Lions Club members are ordinary people
who do extraordinary things to help others." Be a part of the change. We would love to hear from you.

Our members are ordinary people doing extraordinary things like supporting people with a disability, assisting in the community and fundraising for worthwhile causes. If you are considering joining our club please call and say hello and see what we do. Our Board Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6.30pm at our clubhouse (the old Scout Hall) at the corner of Mountain and Hospital Streets at Pomona. We also meet at our clubhouse for dinner on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Dinner meetings commence at 6.30pm. Projects of the Cooroy Pomona Lions Club - Pomona King Of The Mountain Festival, Pomona Night Of Lights, Poker Run, Bookshop, Cash 4 Cans, Market BBQ's, Youth Of The Year, etc.

🚴 It's Noosa Triathlon Day, and our Cooroy Pomona Lions Club are out in force, marshalling at 14 different locations across the Noosa Hinterland! 🚩

While thousands of athletes take on one of Australia's most iconic sporting events, our Lions are working behind the scenes to help keep everyone safe and the event running smoothly.

From directing traffic to cheering on competitors, it's a huge day for our volunteers, many of whom were up bright and early to take their positions!

💛 A massive thank you to all our Lions and volunteers who have given up their Sunday to support this fantastic event.

👋 If you see our Lions along the course today, give them a wave or a shout-out!

🚨💦 DISASTER STRUCK AT THE LIONS DEN!

It started with that dreaded sound nobody wants to hear… running water where there shouldn't be!

After more than 20 years of faithful service, our hot water system had sprung a leak, leaving us facing an unexpected and costly replacement.

For a small, volunteer-run community organisation like ours, unexpected expenses like this can take a significant bite out of funds that would otherwise go towards helping our community.

Thankfully, Noosa Council came to the rescue! 🙌

Through Council's Quick Response Grant, which provides up to $2,500 in assistance for eligible community organisations, we were able to secure funding within just two weeks to replace our failed system!

A huge thank you to Noosa Council for recognising the challenges faced by local community groups and providing practical, timely support when it's needed most.

And a special thank you to Plumbing & Gas Services Pomona for again looking after us and professionally installing our new hot water system, getting everything back up and running!

🙏 The Cooroy Pomona Lions Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible businesses of Pomona who generously supported our 2025 Pomona Night of Lights Mega Raffle.

Each of the following businesses generously donated their goods to help our fundraising efforts and make the 2025 Night of Lights the best yet. It's amazing to receive such generous support for our club and our projects!

Community events like the Night of Lights simply wouldn't be possible without local businesses that believe in giving back and helping create something special for everyone to enjoy.

Every contribution, big or small, helped bring our community together for an evening filled with festive spirit, entertainment and Christmas cheer.

🦋🌭 BBQ FUNDRAISER FOR SUNSHINE BUTTERFLIES!

Today, the Cooroy Pomona Lions Club fired up the BBQ to support the wonderful work of Sunshine Butterflies, with all profits going towards their Forever Homes project!

We were also delighted to have some of the Sunshine Butterflies crew join us, selling their delicious homemade preserves and connecting with the community.

Sunshine Butterflies does incredible work supporting people living with disability and their families, helping build independence, friendships and life skills.

Their Forever Homes project aims to provide safe, affordable, long-term accommodation at their Cooroibah property, Our Backyard. With their existing accommodation already full, the first stage aims to provide homes for another 10 people, giving them greater independence and their families peace of mind for the future.

🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a sausage, donated or supported the preserves stall. We're proud to help such a wonderful local organisation make this important project a reality!

💜🌭 FUNDRAISER BBQ for Sunshine Butterflies 🌭💜

The Cooroy Pomona Lions will be down at the Pomona Country Markets tomorrow Saturday 10th October to raise money for the Sunshine Butterflies foundation to help build accommodation on their land. Come and grab a sausage sizzle, bacon and egg roll or breaky works Burger to support this amazing group.

🍳We will be there from 7am until 11:30 cooking up a storm.
