Open House Latrobe 2026 has wrapped up, and what a first festival it was.

Over the weekend, doors opened across Moe, Morwell, Traralgon, Churchill, Yinnar and Yallourn, and visitors stepped inside, asked questions and discovered the stories behind some of Latrobe’s most distinctive places. Beautiful spring weather made it a joy to be out and about.

To our Collaborators who opened their doors and shared their knowledge, and to the volunteers in bright pink vests who gave their time and energy, thank you. The festival simply couldn’t happen without you.

With heartfelt thanks to our partners who made it possible: Major Partner Latrobe City Council, and our Program Partners and Sponsors Visit Victoria, Maptivate, Heritage Council Victoria, Architecture and Access and Openly Inclusive.

And to everyone who came along, thank you. By exploring and sharing these places and stories, you’ve become part of Latrobe’s story too.

The final day of Open House Latrobe is here, and there’s still time to see the region differently.

Whether you’re chasing a favourite building, discovering somewhere new or simply seeing where your day takes you, now’s the moment. Step inside, hear the stories behind the spaces and make a few unexpected discoveries along the way.

There’s plenty of open access today, and some tours still have spaces, so check the program to plan your day: https://openhousemelbourne.org/open-house-latrobe-2026-program/?time=Sunday

Day one was extraordinary, and that’s thanks to our collaborators who opened their doors, the volunteers who gave their time and energy, and every one of you who showed up, explored and asked questions.

We can’t wait to see you out and about today!

Open House Latrobe is made possible by Major Partner Latrobe City Council, and Program Partners and Sponsors Visit Victoria, Maptivate, Heritage Council Victoria, Architecture and Access and Openly Inclusive. Thank you for helping bring the festival to life.

Open House Latrobe starts today. Stroll the City takes in the region's industry, architecture and landscape, one stop at a time.

It's a self-guided audio tour across Moe, Morwell and Traralgon, with architects, historians and local voices as your guides. There's no set order. Take one stop or all of them, in between everything else on your weekend.

Start at Moe Courthouse and move through Morwell, where you'll find the Centenary Rose Garden, La Mode Factory and the Power Station and Briquette Factory, then on to No. 21 Dredger and Traralgon Courthouse. Or skip the route and follow your own.

Whether you're visiting for the weekend or rediscovering your own backyard, Stroll the City is free and self-paced.

Open House Latrobe runs October 9 to 11.

Open House Latrobe is presented by Open House Melbourne and Latrobe City Council. Stroll the City: Latrobe Valley is supported by the Heritage Council of Victoria.

Open House Latrobe starts this Friday. Here's what to know before you go, and a few reasons to stay longer.

Before you go:
🔹 Over 30 programs, some open access and some booked
🔹 Booked tours have a $7 fee and limited spots
🔹 Info Hubs at Moe Library, Latrobe Regional Gallery and GPAC, 10am to 4pm daily
🔹 It runs in all weather, so bring a jacket and an umbrella

Open House Latrobe is this weekend! If you love a good story about the past, here's an itinerary built for history buffs.

Two experiences need a booking, and spots are limited:

→ Old Gippstown Heritage Park, Moe
Explore 30 original relocated buildings from the 1840s to the 1930s. On Saturday, book a guided tour of three standout buildings from the 1840s, 1850s and 1930s.

→ Morwell Historical Society
Join a landmark walking tour on Saturday or Sunday at 11am, from post-war settlement to the Valley's power production story. 60 minutes, group of 12.

Then add two open access stops, no booking needed:

→ Yinnar and District Historical Society and Museum
Take a walking tour from the historic Railway Goods Shed, then browse the museum's photos and artefacts all weekend.

→ Old Brown Coal Mine Museum
Discover the living history of the former township of Brown Coal Mine (now Yallourn North) through photographs, tools, clothing and more.

October 9-11.

Open House Latrobe is just one week away! Step past the 'staff only' signs and see some of the region's favourite spaces from a completely new angle.

Here are three tours you can still book:

→ Gippsland Performing Arts Centre
Ever wondered what the stage looks like from the other side of the curtain? Go behind the scenes with GPAC's senior technical team and explore the 25-metre fly tower and 750-seat auditorium. If you're up for it, you can even see the space the way performers do, from way up high.

→ Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre
Go where swimmers never get to go. Discover why every pool is kept at a different temperature, how geothermal technology and advanced filtration keep the water perfect, and how the centre is supporting health, rehab and wellbeing. Then head into the gym with the team who run it.

→ Latrobe Regional Gallery
Step inside the 1936 Town Hall, with its red Yallourn brick and timber interiors that nod to the region's forests. Take a curatorial, architectural or back-of-house tour and see what goes on when the public isn't looking.

October 9-11.
Bookings are essential for these tours, and there's still space. Don't miss this first-ever look behind the scenes!
