The West Lothian Branch of Dyslexia Scotland aims to provide advice and support for dyslexic children and adults and their families and those who work with them (including teachers and employers). So often people think that dyslexia is just about reading and writing but in fact it affects people in many other ways as well. Dyslexia is a combination of abilities and difficulties that affect the learning processes in reading, spelling, writing, mathematics, memory or organisation. One in ten people in Scotland are thought to be dyslexic, with up to one in four of these thought to be severely dyslexic. Dyslexia Scotland is the national voluntary organisation representing the needs and interests of people with dyslexia in Scotland. It provides advice and support for dyslexic children and adults as well as for their families and those who work with them (including teachers and employers). The West Lothian Branch has regular Open Meetings, which offer a chance to meet and chat over a cup of tea or coffee. We often have guest speakers to talk about dyslexia as well as resource tables with information leaflets etc. Our meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to come along. Please Note:
