私たちが制作した『Go for Broke ハワイ日系二世の記憶』と『Okagesama de 〜ハワイ日系女性の軌跡〜』は、ハワイの映画祭で選ばれハワイアン航空も機内エンターテイメントに採用されましたが、これらの評価も、ハワイ社会が持つ日系人への敬意の表れだと捉えています。

NAC-Jは、映像というカタチで、ハワイの日系人の功績と苦難の歴史を、日本やハワイはもちろん、世界に発信しています。

We, the nonprofit organization NAC-J, convey the history of Hawaii and contribute to building relations between Japan and Hawaii.

Our documentaries, "Go for Broke Memories of Hawaii Japanese Nisei" and "Okagesama de ~Hawaii Nikkei Women's Trajectory~," were selected for film festivals in Hawaii and Los Angeles, and were even distributed on Hawaiian Airlines' global routes.
We see this recognition as a testament to the respect that Hawaiian society has for Japanese Americans.

NAC-J uses film to share the history of the achievements and hardships of Japanese Americans in Hawaii, not only in Japan and Hawaii, but also around the world.

We have also been conducting screening and exchange activities between Japan and Hawaii for over 10 years.
"Okagesama de ~Hawaii Nikkei Women's Trajectory~", is a work that conveys and preserves the herstory (referred to as “Herstory” rather than “History”) and the “Gambari” spirit of women—a legacy that had all but vanished even in Hawaii.

However, we are facing a very difficult financial situation due to a lack of support.
We need the support of as many people as possible.

Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, screenings in Hawaii have increased; we have already held over a dozen screenings and interacted with thousand of people of Japanese descent.
Additionally, a famous Nikkei musician in Hawaii agreed with the film’s mission and provided the music.

私どもNPO法人NAC-Jは、今年も２作の上映を重ねますが、新作にも取り掛かりたいと考えています。

次作は、ドキュメンタリーではなくオリジナルストーリで、これまで２作のために多くの二世たちから聞いた母の話を、一人の日本人女性移民の一生で描けたら。

1990年代に工藤夕貴さん主演で制作された『Picture Bride』をオマージュした『Her story』を企画します。

それが、今は亡き二世たちへの敬意なのだと考えています。

Our Nonprofit organization NAC-J will be screening two films again this year, but we also hope to begin work on a new movie.

Our next film will not be a documentary, but an original story. We would like to portray the story of mother, which we have heard from many Nisei for our two previous films, through the life of the one Japanese female immigrant.

We are planning to make "Her Story," an homage to "Picture Bride," which was made in the 1990s and starred Kudo Yuki-san.

We believe that this is a way of paying tribute to the Nisei peoples who have now passed away.
