Date: April 13
Time: 17:00 - 20:00
Location: The Old Library at the Clockhouse
In this Otherwise workshop you will play Le Grand Jeu, an award‑winning role play + board game that blends scenario planning, chance, randomisation and classic imagination.
During the game you will:
• Learn to design system change interventions in a playful, low‑risk environment.
• Imagine how alternative currencies and value‑exchange systems can shape behaviour.
• Practice multi‑stakeholder negotiation and strategy around future societal and ecological scenarios
• Observe the emergence of collective intelligence as players co‑create pathways for transition.
An example: one round may ask you to redesign a campus or bioregion’s economy using alternative currencies, while other players represent institutions, citizens, and more-than-human actors negotiating trade‑offs.
There will be soup and tea after the game!
Please register in advance, so we can design a tailor‑made scenario reflecting your interests. Otherwise, the default setting will be Wageningen Campus. Please fill in this form in order to sign up for this workshop and share your interest for the game setting. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/4sPgoVt
The event is facilitated by Gijs Spoor, a WUR alumni and former OtherWiser. He is a founding member of The Green Silk Road project, an international network of community‑based initiatives for bioregional regeneration across Eurasia.
