We love God because He has first loved us. He has freed us from the chains of sin and shame, giving us a life of purpose and abundance in Him.
We trust that as we gather tomorrow, we will experience something fresh of this abundant life; both in our time of worship, and as we receive from God's word.

As it's the school holidays, there will be no kids church tomorrow, tho creche facilities will be available for parents to use with the wee ones.

We start at 10:30am, and refreshments will be served afterwards.
It would be great to see you, you can be sure of a warm welcome!

This past Sunday we looked at the subject of Biblical Discipline....
• Our Father wants to instruct and train us through His word. When we respond to this positively in the first instance things are so much easier!
• Even when we don't respond to His guidance, our Father doesn't scold or condemn us, but rather he walks alongside us, patiently bearing with us until we conform to His will.
• When we choose a path that takes our lives and conduct into unhelpful waters, our Father uses whatever means necessary to bring His will to pass in our lives, even if that means bringing us aside for a season.
This is all part of the Lord's 'Discipline,' and always for our good.
Someone once said; "God loves as we are, but loves us too much to leave us there."

Hebrews 12:5-12
And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.

The BBC reports that Green Party members have backed a motion describing Zionism as racism and supporting a single democratic Palestinian state across Palestine. To label Zionism itself as racist treats Jewish aspirations for safety and self-determination as morally illegitimate. Zionism, broadly understood, is the movement for Jewish national self-determination in the Jewish people’s ancestral homeland. Its existence does not make every Israeli policy right. A person can oppose expansion, or a government’s conduct without denying Jewish peoplehood or the right of Jews to live securely and freely in their historic homeland.
The Bible gives this connection deep roots. In Genesis, God calls Abraham and promises that his descendants will become a people and receive a land (Genesis 12:1–3; 17:7–8). Israel’s attachment to the land is woven through the biblical story, worship and memory. The prophets speak of return and restoration (Amos 9:14–15). Christians may differ over how these promises relate to the modern State of Israel, but it is difficult to read Scripture honestly while dismissing Jewish belonging to the land as invented or inherently racist. Imagine the British people being told that they had no legitimate claim to a national home in Britain, and that seeking one was racist!! The comparison is not exact (Jewish history and Britain’s are very different), but it helps illustrate why a people’s attachment to its historic homeland should not, by itself, be labelled racism.
The Bible places strict moral limits on how any people treats another. Every person bears God’s image (Genesis 1:27). Israel is commanded to love the stranger, remembering its own vulnerability (Leviticus 19:33–34). The biblical vision cannot be used to excuse suffering, and supporting one people’s safety need not mean opposing another’s rights.

Join us for this Sunday's service, where we'll be continuing our journey through the letter Paul the Apostle wrote to the Corinthians.
In the last week we've heard about the grace and peace that is extended to all who believe in Jesus, and looked at how the cross is central to our faith; It is the means of our salvation, the symbol that unites us, the message we preach and the checkpoint for all things discipleship.
This week we'll be following Paul's communication to the church at Corinth as they came up against challenges, many of which are common to life and culture today.

Our service starts at 10:30am, with kids church and creche running, and refreshments following the service.

How are you doing child of God?
