Friends of Camp Celiac is a place for our camp community to come together. That weekend, fifty-two children were in attendance.

Camp Celiac was started in July of 2000 as a weekend sleep-away camp for children with Celiac Disease. The camp was so successful that the children begged for more, and thus Camp Celiac developed into a five-day sleep away camp catering entirely to the needs of the gluten-free diet. We typically have 170 campers and staff with children coming from across the United States and abroad, having represented over 20 states, Canada, Israel, Sweden, Germany and Italy.

🎣 Hooked on Camp Life! 🌿
At Camp Celiac, our nature program is reeling in big excitement this year! From the thrill of catching their first fish to discovering frogs, bugs, and other critters, our campers are learning that the outdoors is full of surprises. 🐟🐸🦋

We’ve seen proud catches, epic “it was THIS big!” fish stories, and plenty of laughter when the fish outsmarted us. And in between casts, our campers explore trails, search for hidden treasures in the woods, and make friends with every creature (big and small) that crosses their path.

It’s all about fresh air, curious minds, and muddy shoes — just the way camp should be. 💚

P.S. Don’t worry… the fish are sworn to secrecy about who screamed the loudest when they got caught. 😉

🪩 Break out the neon, tease that hair, and dust off your leg warmers… it’s time to get totally tubular! 🪩

Camp Celiac’s 80s-themed dance is almost here, and our campers are so ready to moonwalk, robot, and maybe even attempt the worm (wish us luck). They’ve been practicing their moves, crimping their hair, and blasting all the greatest hits — it’s going to be like, totally rad.

💜 This isn’t just about having a blast — our dance night helps raise funds so every camper with celiac disease can experience the magic of camp, from gluten-free s’mores to fishing trips to nature adventures.

This year, every single camper has been drafted into a Survivor Team… and let’s just say things are about to get wild. 🐒

Meet the fearless (and slightly ridiculous) competitors:
🥚 Eggstars – cracking under pressure since Day 1.
💎 Diamond Devils – shiny, but dangerous.
🏕 Camping Creepers – lurking quietly… until snack time.
🦷 Crazy Chompers – will bite (into cookies).

They’ll face epic challenges like scavenger hunts, capture the flag, fear factor, field games, and more questionable activities we may or may not have invented.

🎣🐟 Day one at Camp Celiac and we’re off to a reel good start! Our campers loved kicking off the morning with delicious gluten-free French toast 🍞✨ before heading out for their very first fishing session of the week.

Nature programming is bigger than ever this year, and our curious campers have been busy discovering all kinds of creatures—each one sparking big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. 🐞🪱🌿

If this is just the first day, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings! 💚
