M123 Tahquamenon Scenic Byway Welcome to the Tahquamenon Scenic Byway, a 63-mile journey through Michigan’s Eastern UP.

The M-123 Tahquamenon Scenic Heritage Route was designated by the Michigan Legislature and recognized by the Michigan Department of Transportation. The M-123 Heritage Route is the entire 62-mile loop of M-123 north of M-28 in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Route extends from Eckerman Corners on M-28, north through Paradise and the Tahquamenon Falls State Park, and south through the V

illage of Newberry to the intersection of M-123 and M-28. The Tahquamenon Scenic Heritage Route Advisory Committee coordinates and unites the efforts of existing organizations, businesses, and municipalities engaged in; economic and community development, natural resource management, preservation, travel and tourism, education, marketing, and promotional efforts along the route. The TSHRAC shall advocate aesthetics, safety, and maintenance of the Tahquamenon Scenic Heritage Route and encourage sound community development practices to support the preservation of our natural environment through encouraging united efforts. The Committee also recognizes the importance and impact that tourism has on the region and will focus on its enhancement and the delivery of a strong voice in the marketplace.
