The Aboriginal Skills Group began in 2005 as the Vancouver Aboriginal Skills and Employment Partnership (VanAsep) as a non-profit partnership project dedicated to increasing Aboriginal employment in strategic and sustainable job markets. The society proudly collaborated with First Nation communities, Métis Provincial Council, and both industry and training institutions until its sunset in March 2012. Aboriginal Skills Group has taken up where VanAsep left off, continuing the legacy of Aboriginal upskilling and job placement. We administer the innovative, interactive, industry-leading Essential Skills 3G assessments which we are launching nationally with partnerships across Canada. We are ITA-designated to train and certify Aboriginals with the knowledge, experience and qualification that industries want, ensuring Aboriginal employment by creating qualified, well-trained and experienced workers when and where they are needed most.
