The 21-Day Georgia Kulture Keepers Challenge Begins NOW!
May 22 – June 12, 2025
Spotlight: North Georgia Counties
Help us honor the cultural champions in our communities! The African Diaspora Museology Institute (ADMI) is on a mission to identify and recognize at least one Kulture Keeper in each of Georgia’s 159 counties—starting with North Georgia!
A Kulture Keeper is a steward of ancestral memory—those who preserve, share, and protect Black heritage in both formal and informal ways.
They may be:
🔸 Founders of Black museums
🔸 Storytellers & genealogists
🔸 Artists, educators, and elders
🔸 Caretakers of burial grounds or historic homes
🔸 Archivists of Black family history
This initiative is part of ADMI’s ongoing effort to document Black museums and cultural spaces across the African Diaspora. Let's celebrate those ensuring our stories are told for generations to come.
Do you know a Kulture Keeper in any of these counties? Nominate them today!
North Georgia Counties (Region Focus):
Banks, Barrow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Clarke, Dade, Dawson, Elbert, Fannin, Floyd, Franklin, Gordon, Greene, Habersham, Haralson, Hart, Jackson, Lincoln, Lumpkin, Madison, Murray, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Polk, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, Walker, White, Whitfield
NOMINATE HERE: [email protected]

There’s Still Time to Give
The Gala was a beautiful experience but we are still trying to reach half of the earlier goal we set for ourselves. We now need only $2,740 to reach the new goal of $12,500. Please Give today.
Did you know that the African Diaspora Museology Institute (ADMI) will be celebrating 10 years in Savannah and making a difference in the field of Black Museum Anthropology?
Even a donation of $10.00 helps them continue to conduct research and provide services to Black museums and communities and reach their goal of $25,0000 for A Day of Jazz, Art, and Literary Kulture Gala Fundraiser.

The Gala on September 7th was something I will always remember. It was well attended despite one of those typical Savannah rainy season rainy days. And, as far as giving, unfortunately, we did not make our fundraising goal. However, today is my actual birthday and you can still help me celebrate by contributing to this campaign.

Thanks for listening to the cries of the African Diaspora Museology Institute ADMI for so many years. I can see clearly the smile of Dr. Calvin L. Kiah who promised his wife Virginia a home and museum in this building. So as ADMI prepares to wish him a happy 113th heavenly birthday on October 1st, we want to say we will never forget you and your bride and the work of the Kiah House Museum.

Savannah City Council voted Thursday to allot up to $500,000 for the renovation and restoration of the historic Kiah house.
