The GW Innovation Center (GWIC) in Tompkins Hall on the Foggy Bottom campus is the first dedicated physical place for cross-departmental and multidisciplinary innovation on campus. VISION
The GWIC is the physical hub to cross-polinate student driven innovation and entreprenuial activities across the ten schools within The George Washington University. Students come to (re-)imagine or create produ

sct and services across a broad range of domains, from commercial to non-profit, public to private. GWIC is dedicated to providing a mix of structured and unstructured activities across three categories that undergird invention - learn and ideate, incubate and make. These are situated within a bold curricular initiative to build an innovation program of study for all majors at GW. LEARN AND IDEATE
The GWIC encourages cross-disciplinary connections, collaboration and “collisions“ among GW innovators. Like-minded faculty, staff and alumni from all schools and programs from across the campus can meet up, congregate, explore and work on innovations/creative projects. The GWIC offers regularly scheduled programming such as workshops, lectures, hack-a-thons, ad advising sessions. INCUBATION
Upon ideation, fledgling startup teams that are beyond the ideation stage can utilize space at the GWIC. The GWIC offers dedicated storage, furniture, and quiet meeting spaces. In the summer, GWIC helps accelerate and support startups with hands-on training and mentoring. Please check out our student run incubation webpage dub.works

Tomorrow from 4-5:30pm here at the GWIC, we are running an interactive workshop to develop GW students' ideation and creative problem-solving skills with . Using the Human-Centered Design framework used by innovators, entrepreneurs, and designers, attendees will learn how to define and uncover everyday problems and come up with innovative and creative solutions. Tools gained at this workshop will benefit those looking to create and develop new ideas, products, and/or services. No prior experience with design thinking is necessary to attend.
