🎃 From Halloween Treats to Christmas Giving 🎄💜
It may feel a little early, but we know our amazing supporters love to plan ahead—and find a good deal!

Here’s what’s coming up with Roo’s Wish:
👻 We’ll be putting together Halloween treat bags for children in foster care. Stay tuned for a link to send items directly to us!

🍬 Save that leftover Halloween candy! After Halloween, we’ll collect extra candy to use for parties and special treats throughout the year.

🎄 Our Christmas baskets for young adults who have aged out of foster care are coming back! This year we’ll be collecting new non-perishable food, kitchen items, and small appliances like mixers, small food processors, can openers, and air fryers.

🛍️ We know the great sales start early, so if you spot an amazing deal and want to grab something for Roo’s Wish, we would love it!

📍 Donations can also be dropped off at Nail Expo on Bardstown Road.

This weekend, I had the chance to hang out at Spring Meadows, where we played pickleball, made slime, and just had a lot of fun together.

While we were making slime, one of the boys started talking about some upcoming medical procedures he will be going through. All I could think about was how hard it already is to be a teenager in foster care and then to add medical procedures to the mix, without a family member by your side through it all.

I pray this young man finds a home before his procedures begin. I know he’s tough, and I have no doubt he’ll get through every one of them. But more than anything, I would love for him to have someone there to care for him, encourage him, and simply be by his side through it all. 💜

Yesterday at Treyton Oak Towers, we had the opportunity to spend time with some amazing kids from Home of the Innocents! While every one of them was special, the young man pictured below especially caught my attention. There was just something about him that stood out.

We talked sports—he LOVES the Lakers and the Philadelphia Eagles! He also proudly told me that just last week, he had the opportunity to preach a sermon. I loved hearing about something he was so excited and passionate about!

Sometimes you meet someone who leaves a little impression on your heart, and he was definitely one of those people.

Another awesome opportunity to send kiddos to Kentucky Kingdom! This time we were able to send kids from Boys & Girls Haven! They had an absolutely amazing time and for some this was their first time!!

Fun night at Graeters celebrating an 18th birthday for a pretty amazing kid!! I’ve known him for years now and am so impressed with the steps he keeps putting in to get through school and plan for his future!!

We were so excited for the opportunity to sponsor the girls at Maryhurst’s Treasure House for a fun filled day at Kentucky Kingdom!! They rode rides, splashed around Hurricane Bay, had some delicious food and enjoyed a beautiful summer day!!

We can’t say thank you enough to everybody who donates and helps us treat kids in residential facilities to amazing outings!

A fun afternoon with the kids at Spring Meadows! 🏓

We started the afternoon with some pickleball, and they've definitely been practicing! They were some tough competition! Afterward, we all went to Chick-fil-A for dinner!

I wish I could introduce each of these kids to the world because every single one of them is incredible in their own way. If more people had the chance to really get to know them, their personalities, their strengths, and their hearts, I truly believe we could find a forever family for every child. ❤️

David is an energetic, outgoing young man who loves sports, outdoor activities, fishing, and anything competitive. He enjoys country music, action movies, camping, and prefers staying active over sitting still.

He’s social, funny, and naturally charismatic—someone who easily makes friends and brings energy into every room. He also shows respect for adults, does well in school, and has real leadership potential.

David is ready for a family who will encourage his strengths, support his growth, and walk alongside him as he builds his future.
