SACS organised a Training of Trainers workshop on HIV treatment literacy on 25-26th April 2026.

A total of over 20 participants consisting of members, community health workers, volunteers, and a counsellor who joined the interactive training which was facilitated by Mr Andrew Tan of KLASS, and co-facilitated by our very own Vice President, Dr Yuwana.

It was a fruitful training experience with many insightful discussions and sharings.

🚨 Healthcare budget cuts: What’s at stake for Sarawak?

The proposed RM3.06B cut to the Ministry of Health isn't just a number: it’s a risk to lives. SACS is calling for a review of these cuts to protect:

✅ Medication Access: Ensuring no disruptions in the supply of life-saving HIV treatment.
✅ Prevention (DHSKP): Stopping new infections before they happen.
✅ Rural Support: Keeping community health workers on the ground in our remote longhouses.

"This threat is not limited to HIV, as drug resistance also impacts treatment for other infections, cancer, and various non-communicable diseases,"
warns SACS President Stevie Astly Robbart.

Our condolences to the family and KARISMA ☹️

SACS mourns the loss of Allayarham Shahrull Azuar Bin Ahmad who had been instrumental in the HIV/AIDS activism scene in Malaysia.

Al-fatihah.

Majlis AIDS Malaysia (MAC) dan Yayasan AIDS Malaysia (MAF) merakamkan ucapan takziah kepada seluruh ahli keluarga Allahyarham Shahrull Azuar bin Ahmad atas pemergian beliau.

Sumbangan beliau sebagai Pengasas dan Presiden Persatuan Kebajikan Karisma Malaysia (KARISMA), serta penglibatan beliau dalam pasukan perintis NSEP MAC akan sentiasa dikenang.

Kami mendoakan agar roh Allahyarham dicucuri rahmat, diampunkan segala dosa, dan ditempatkan dalam kalangan orang-orang yang beriman.
