Good afternoon everyone, today we will be honoring one of our founders 1LT Jarrett Cavanagh.
He truly is a man who needs no introduction however, here is his message to us all.
Warriors, I am Jarrett Cavanagh of the class of 2018 from Summerville, South Carolina. I graduated from Norwich University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and commissioned into the United States Marine Corps, going on to become a Field Artillery Officer. I had the opportunity to start NUAD at the end of 2015 with the help of fellow cadets and students. From my Sophomore to Senior year, I served as the club CO, recruiting, building, and laying the foundation for where the club has moved today. Though my job in the Corps of Cadets as the RCSM kept me busy, I always made time for the club my senior year. In the field, I served in corpsman to squad leader positions, back when the club was only about two squads in size. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredible people on and off the field thanks to this club and I am incredibly grateful to the team that helped me to get it all started. To see NUAD grow into what it is today and be able to still provide assistance to those in it is a privilege and I am happy to see so many new members. From having just, a single live-fire training on Mt. Paine to providing some of the best airsofters to events in New England, it is safe to say that the club has grown far beyond what I first thought it would. Though it has been a few years since I was last at Norwich, I still make time to get in games with my team and the connections have stayed alive. I carry my patch with me everywhere I go in the Marine Corps and I’m happy to say that NUAD has been around the world at this point. I look forward to the next game with the team and I hope to see some new faces out there. Semper Fi and Potato Dis!
P.S. Never forget NUAD on line playing the British Grenadiers on loudspeakers >:)
