In 2015, our plans are to serve our local community, the elderly, the less fortunate, the homeless and the needy. We are going to achieve this plan through a variety of projects hosted throughout the year. A Giving Tree Community Pantry is a mobile food pantry that serves all of Hamilton County, Indiana. A Giving Tree Community Pantry will serve the people in our community who are struggling financially, but in a way that preserves their dignity. We strive to provide a confidential environment that respects an individual's privacy and acknowledges how difficult it is to ask for help. We hope to transform lives by engaging the strengths of many to combat hunger on three major fronts: food distribution, nutritional education and spiritual guidance. We plan to involve our community in helping those in need and raise awareness that there is an inundation of need in our very own backyards. Many of our neighbors are struggling without our knowledge. Our primary purpose and goal is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people in our community. A Giving Tree Community Garden is very special and an amazingly bountiful project. During the 2014 growing season, we had 3 garden locations and had a phenomenal amount of produce to distribute. One of our organic zucchini's measured nearly 3 feet in length! However, we received an even larger blessing in the Fall of 2014! We have just broken ground on 2 acres of raw land in one centralized location! In 2015, this glorious garden will grow food for the guests of A Giving Tree Community Pantry. The garden helps us in providing healthier food selections and alternative snacks to our guests. It also greatly reduces our need to purchase vegetables and fruit during the growing season. The garden is 100% organic and we are praying for another season of abundance! 2015 is going to be a Bumper Crop year!! A Mission in Our Own Backyard
