First-year quad reunion, senior edition! 🩺

Thanks to Float, these four found themselves senioring Med 1-4 today, all as covering seniors! Naturally, we had to get a picture. 🥹

A little shoutout to our Float system while we’re at it! Having residents available to step in and cover is what allows our residents to attend conferences, interview for fellowship, take time off when they’re sick, or be there when family emergencies come up. It’s something we really value about our program, and it wouldn’t work without residents willing to jump in wherever they’re needed.

An unexpected quad reunion and a good reminder of why we appreciate our Float residents! ❤️ Happy Friday to all!

Scholarly Sunday 🤝 Speedy Sunday

Much to celebrate this week! 📚🏃‍♂️🏅

PGY-2 Dr. Jeff Moorhead took his scholarship on the road to the AACVPR meeting, presenting his work on frailty before and after early outpatient cardiac rehabilitation.

PGY-1 Dr. Sammy Arab is already making moves with a publication in JACC: Heart Failure on myocardial histopathology-based heart failure phenotyping!

Meanwhile, outside the hospital, PGY-3 Dr. Reece Wadle was busy casually running 26.2 miles at the Twin Cities Marathon 🏃‍♂️💨🏅

Our Belonging Book Club is back! First read of the year: And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini. Every few months, our residents pick a book highlighting the stories and experiences of historically marginalized or underserved communities, then get together to chat about it over dinner!

🔬 PGY-3 Alyssa MacLean, part of our Clinical Investigator Track in Infectious Diseases, was invited to speak at the Mayo Clinic Rochester Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Symposium!

🩸 PGY-3 Carla Borre, PGY-2 Aishwarya Pradeep, and PGY-3 Miranda Lin made the trek to Houston, Texas, to present at the 2026 Society of Hematologic Oncology Annual Meeting!

🌎 And PGY-3 Reem Matar presented at the IFSO World Congress in Toronto!

So fun to see our residents sharing their work across the country (and beyond)!
