Today’s takes us to Portugal, where these PortuGALS presented at the World Association for Sarcoidosis conference!

Rising Chief/PGY3/future Cardiologist Dr. Johns presented her work using AI EKG to predict cardiac sarcoidosis, while alum and current first year Rheumatology fellow Dr. Davison also took the stage to share her work.

Well done, doctors!!!

It’s both and Sunday! 🏃📚

PGY1s Kiyan and Aishwarya hit the ground running at Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, completing 26.2 and 13.1 miles, respectively! 🔥👏

We’re also celebrating our residents who shared their work on the international stage at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting in Chicago and the European Hematology Association (EHA) meeting in Sweden. 🌎

And finally, a shoutout to our residents who recently added to the medical literature through their latest publications. ✍️📑

Whether it’s miles, manuscripts, or meeting presentations, our residents continue to go the distance. 🥳🥳🥳

And because we couldn’t resist sharing one more senior photo, we had to include a “then-and-now” from one of our residency quads. Three years, countless memories, lifelong friendships, and a whole lot of growth. That’s Mayo IMRes ❤️

We couldn’t wait until Sunday to share this exciting scholarly achievement by our outstanding PGY-3, Becky Brooks, as she transitions into her Chief Resident year.

Dr. Brooks’s research was published in Nature today (!!!) and supported by a $15,000 research grant. While this accomplishment is impressive in its own right, it reflects the same dedication she brings to everything she does. Dr. Brooks has been a leader across our residency program, helping guide numerous committees, mentoring trainees, and serving as an exceptional teacher on the wards.

Congratulations, Dr. Brooks! We are grateful for all you do for our residents and excited to see what comes next!!!
