Diverse Carers - informal support group Informal support group for Carers from ethnic minorities and who are looking after someone from an ethnic minority. We are a voluntary organisation.

Have 'Me' time with us at the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Portsmouth Carers Centre. We welcome self-referrals. We are run by Carers for Carers (volunteers) because we know exactly how you feel being a Carer. We respect each other’s differences & diversity. Currently, the group members are from 10 different cultural backgrounds!! Living in an environment where you are separated from your own culture, language, family and friends, can cause serious distress to anyone, anywhere. Recognising cultural isolation (who you are) is very important as part of your wellbeing. Are you feeling lonely because…
- your own ethnic community or association does not understand about Carers?
- your own ethnic community or association is not easily available?
- you are not able to see your family & friends regularly?
- you are a lone Carer?
- you do not understand English very well?
