Same Waste. Very Different Results.

Most farmers burn crop waste the same way.

But what if one simple change could dramatically reduce smoke, improve soil health, and turn waste into a valuable farm resource?

On our website, you'll see a video comparing two piles of the exact same agricultural waste burned in two different ways.

One produces thick smoke and leaves only ash.

The other uses a simple top-lit method that burns cleaner and creates biochar—a powerful tool that can help farmers improve soil, increase water retention, reduce fertilizer costs, and boost crop productivity.

You'll also learn how biochar can be used in composting systems and livestock operations to improve nutrient retention and reduce waste.

Better Soil
Cleaner Air
Healthier Farms
Lower Costs

Sometimes a small change can create a big impact.

Visit our website to watch the video, learn how biochar works, and explore our free resources, downloadable PDFs, practical tools, and information about turning agricultural waste—including coffee waste, corn stalks, rice husks, and more—into a valuable resource.

How Biochar Can Help Heal the Planet.

Across the world, agricultural waste is often burned in open fields, creating dangerous smoke, damaging soil, and releasing massive amounts of carbon into the atmosphere.

But there is another way.

At Warm Heart Worldwide, we train farmers to turn crop waste into biochar — a simple, low-cost solution that can improve soils while helping fight climate change.

🌱 Biochar can:
✅ Reduce air pollution and smoke
✅ Improve soil fertility and water retention
✅ Increase crop production
✅ Reduce wildfire risk
✅ Sequester carbon for long-term climate benefit

What began in Northern Thailand has now expanded into Africa, helping farming communities create practical, sustainable solutions using local materials and traditional farming knowledge.

🌍 So far:
• 30,000+ farmers trained
• 8 countries reached
• 19,962 tonnes of CO₂ sequestered

Small actions at the community level can create global change.

Most people don't stop to think about about all the waste created by the coffee industry.

What if coffee waste could help clean water, fight climate change, and support farming communities?

In Sidama, Ethiopia, Warm Heart Worldwide is working with local partners to turn polluted coffee waste into biochar, clean water, and new economic opportunities.

Instead of dumping wastewater into rivers or burning coffee husks, this simple off-grid system transforms waste into solutions:
♻️ Biochar from coffee husks
💧 Cleaner reusable water
⚡ Solar-powered operation
🌍 Reduced emissions
💰 New income for local communities

Even better — the system is designed to be affordable, community-led, and open source so it can be replicated in coffee-growing regions around the world.

This is climate action that works at the village level.

Coffee can become part of the solution.

Biochar does not have to be expensive or high-tech.
You do not need a machine.
You do not need a factory.

In fact, one of the simplest ways to make biochar uses nothing more than a shovel and a trench dug into the ground.

Farmers around the world have been using low-cost trench methods to turn crop waste, branches, weeds, and other biomass into valuable biochar that improves soil health, holds moisture, and helps reduce smoke from open burning.

The process is simple:
🔥 Dig a trench
🔥 Light small amounts of dry biomass
🔥 Add material gradually so it chars instead of turning completely to ash
🔥 Cover or quench when finished

What is left behind is carbon-rich biochar that can be mixed into the soil to help crops grow stronger while storing carbon in the ground for years.

This is important because climate solutions should be accessible to everyone — not just large industries or wealthy countries.

Sometimes the most powerful tools are the simplest ones. 🌱

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there — the ones who nurture, protect, teach, sacrifice, and love unconditionally. 💚🌸

And while we celebrate the mothers in our lives today, let’s also remember our shared Mother Earth.

She gives us clean air, water, food, forests, oceans, and the beauty all around us. The choices we make every day matter — planting trees, supporting solar energy, reducing waste, composting, using biochar, growing healthier soil, and finding greener ways to live.

Small actions, multiplied by millions of people, can create real change.

Today, let’s celebrate the mothers who care for us… and renew our commitment to caring for the planet that cares for all of us.

Happy Mother’s Day — to every mom, and to Mother Earth too. 🌎❤️
