The Theosophical Society in America has its headquarters at 1926 N. Main Street, Wheaton, and 100 years ago, on August 29, 1926, the cornerstone was laid for the main building. The L. W. Rogers Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and they are celebrating its 100th birthday with a Centennial Open House. They are inviting people from the Wheaton area, and others who are especially interested in architecture, to visit that day. From 11 am to 5 pm they will offer tours, exhibits, a 1926 film, and light refreshments. Lectures about architecture and the history of our campus will be given in the auditorium from 1-4 pm.

Please spread the word to anyone who might be interested. Feel free to check out our program listing at https://www.theosophical.org/workshops/centennial-open-house.

Also, two weeks later, September 12, our annual TheosoFest will be held from 10 am - 5 pm. We hope you can come!

Dear Perrin-Wheaton Daughters,

Summer is passing quickly and your Chapter Board has moved into action to have the Chapter yearbooks published according to the IL State Organization’s request for our Regent to present the yearbooks at the District IV “DAR Days” Conference on August 22. Kindly help us meet this requirement by taking a moment to complete the membership form emailed to you and send it with your dues by the date requested. This will allow time for Jessica to put together the yearbook layout for printing and have the books ready --which is a big job!

This summer Perrin-Wheaton members had a delightful time participating in the Reading of the US Constitution with the Glen Ellyn Chapter and other local organizations on July 8th – a day of national readings. (See photo previously posted).

Mark your calendar for our first meeting on September 27th at 7 pm for a very special program by member Stacie and watch for details about Perrin-Wheaton's Constitution Week (September 17-23) Observance.

Wishing you all a wonderful August and thank you in advance for completing the membership form and sending with your dues to Treasurer Anita as well as confirming your contact information with Karla for the membership portion of the yearbook. See you in September!

In DAR Service,

Ginny

Wheaton salutes our veterans on this Independence Day Holiday.

As the sun sets over the Wheaton Field of Honor, 2,000 American flags continue to stand as a powerful tribute to the heroes who have defended our freedom. 🇺🇸

Tonight, we honor their courage, remember their sacrifice, and celebrate the blessings of liberty—especially as we commemorate America's 250th anniversary.

Come experience an evening of remembrance, gratitude, and patriotism.

❤️🤍💙

Dear Illinois Daughters-

Great news! The Liberty Education benches are finished curing and are ready to be installed. Originally scheduled for July 4, 2026, the dedication has been moved to Flag Day, June 14, 2026. The location remains the same in Batavia at the Flag Day Monument, 100 N. Island Avenue, or the parking lot at 121 N. Island Avenue. The dedication ceremony and events will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The Batavia Community band, food options, a historic flag display, children's activities, and other patriotic fun will be available throughout the event.

Attached is a flyer with details.

Hope to see you there!

As America prepares to mark our 250th anniversary of independence, we reflect on the generations of men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice helped preserve the freedoms and opportunities that have shaped our country's story for 250 years.

This Memorial Day, we honor their courage, remember their service, and express our deepest gratitude. May we never forget those who gave everything for our nation.

A Message From Our Regent:

Memorial Day is next Monday and we are planning to march in the parade, members who are able to join us please meet at Memorial Park at 9:00 where we will find out where we will be placed, If you have a DAR shirt please wear it.

Fourth of July is another parade and I am hoping we can march in that one as well. It is our 250 Countries celebration and it would be nice to show our support. The parade goes off at 10:00 on Saturday the fourth.
I think I did mention that we can order tee shirts through DuPage County Historical Society and you can find the information on the website, https://dcgs.org/Store. We can have our chapter name on them and ancestors on them as well.

July 8th SAR is having a reading of the Declaration of Independence at Flag Day Monument, I have also thought of doing one in Wheaton, I'm hoping to do it in Adams Park or maybe outside the library, any thoughts please let us know.

DCGS is excited to announce the launch of a new store, DCGSIllinois on the Zazzle.com platform.
