We are happy to present the English version of Reflection on Color!

As part of the celebrations of the centenary of Carlos Cruz-Diez's birth, the Cruz-Diez documentation center and the Cruz-Diez Foundation joined forces with Yale University Press () to make this new edition available to the English speaking readers.

This emblematic Cruz-Diez essay, initially published in Spanish in 1989, introduces the artist’s thinking to a new generation of artists and scholars. By detailing his theories of color, the master of color and light traced his aesthetic practice and conceptual evolution in this book.

In Caracas, Fundación Sala Mendoza is currently displaying the exhibition “El peso de la forma. El diseño gráfico de Carlos Cruz-Diez”, which offers a journey through Cruz-Diez graphic creativity.

Many thanks to Ariel Jimenez, curator of the exhibition and long-time friend of the Maestro, for guiding us through a selection of graphic design pieces, from editorial designs and posters to exhibition catalog.

In collaboration with Museo ReinaSofía, and Cruz-Diez Foundation, until February 14.

Cruz-Diez’s Labyrinthe de Transchromie B (Paris 1965/2018) is displayed as part of the works, which explore the contribution of foreign artists in the emergence new artistic visions in Post-War Paris.

Today, Fundación Sala Mendoza will host a new conference related to the exhibition “El peso de la forma. El diseño gráfico de Carlos Cruz-Diez”.

“Carlos Cruz-Diez: las complejas formas de la función” (Carlos Cruz-Diez: the complex forms of function") will be held by Carmen Alicia Di Pasquale, philosopher, and Álvaro Sotillo, designer. The curator of the exhibition, Ariel Jiménez, will accompany them.

Join us for this exploration of the link between art and design!

Carlos Cruz-Diez’s Labyrinthe de Transchromie B, 1969/2017 is still on view at the Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration for the exhibition “Paris et nulle part ailleurs”.

As the viewer walks through this artwork, consisting of a superimposed structure of coloured transparent panels, he observes subtractive combinations, and sees his environment through this phenomenon.

Like all Cruz-Diez artworks, it is all about experience, so come join us at Palais de la Porte Dorée until January 22, 2023!
