The 38th Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific (APRC38), hosted by the Government of Brunei Darussalam was held from 20 to 24 April 2026, bringing together Ministers, Policymakers, Civil Society Actors, High Officials and Regional Experts from across the Asia-Pacific Region to shape the future of agri-food systems.

WAVE Foundation’s Deputy Executive Director Nasefa Ali Suchana attended APRC38 as an official CSO delegate. Additionally, the Government of Bangladesh was represented by its official delegation, led by Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Rafiqul I Mohamed and Joint Secretary Kamrul Hasan along with FAO Representative in Bangladesh Jiaoqun Shi.

The conference placed Food Security, Climate Resilience and Agrifood System Transformation at the top of the regional agenda including an urgent reckoning with the global food security implications of the 2026 Middle East conflict. In alignment with these global priorities, WAVE continues to drive grassroots impact through a producer-led approach integrating Agroecology, Climate-Smart Agriculture and Policy Advocacy to ensure Sustainable, Equitable and Inclusive Agri-Food System.
