Volunteer Spotlight!

Terri, Julie & Jinada - 4 & 6 Years of Service

We are thrilled to spotlight three incredible women who have become the heart of our Wednesday mornings in the Donation Center - Terri, Julie, and Jinada, lovingly known around Dress for Success Cincinnati as “The Nurses” trio.

These dedicated volunteers have been faithfully sorting donations for years and are truly invaluable members of our team. Julie and Terri, both retired nurses from Cincinnati Children’s, began volunteering with DFSC in 2022, while Jinada, a retired UC Medical Center nurse, joined us in 2020.

While they may each have different tastes in fashion, they agree they definitely share a love for color - and a passion for helping women feel confident and empowered. The trio says one of their favorite parts about volunteering is the camaraderie they’ve built together in the Donation Center and the shared sense of purpose they feel while giving back.

As they put it, everyone knows the feeling of wearing something that makes you feel confident and inspired - and they love helping ensure other women have the opportunity to experience that too.

Thank you, Julie, Terri, and Jinada, for your years of dedication, friendship, laughter, and service to Dress for Success Cincinnati. These clothes certainly don’t sort themselves, and we are beyond grateful for the time, care, and heart you pour into our mission each week.

We love supporting fellow nonprofits doing meaningful work in our community 💙🐾

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Margo from HART Cincinnati (Homeless Animal Rescue Team) to collect donated shoes in support of their annual Shoe Drive Fundraiser.

HART is an incredible volunteer-led animal rescue organization dedicated to saving homeless animals from euthanization, abandonment, and abuse, with the goal of placing them in loving forever homes.

At Dress for Success Cincinnati, we know that strong communities are built when organizations come together to support one another’s missions. We’re proud to contribute to a fundraiser that helps fuel such important work for animals in need.

Thank you to Margo and the HART team for all that you do and for reminding us that compassion takes many forms. 💙🐾
