Several years ago we planted a row of saplings to form a tree line along the edge of the sports field. This been growing nicely, but nobody could see them due to the growth of brambles. This week the volunteers have cut back much of the vegetation to enable the light to help these trees grow.

This week we welcomed some new volunteers, but many hands make light work - so the more the merrier, just message us to find out more. So, we've repaired a climbing frame in the playground, weeded and deadheaded the Rose Garden, weeded Gordon's Garden and repaired a bench in Bower Dell.

Thank you to our volunteers keeping Sheffield Rd and bottom of Thurgoland bank clear of litter.

Bit of a tidy up on the Anthills. Path cleared back and some litter picking. Just an hour all it takes to help keep our village looking good

Plenty going on this week so far. Two benches reinstalled. One new paid for by Oxspring Parish Council, the other repaired by Men in sheds Pen*stone - a massive thank you. As requested planters, removed from the Willows and a great clear up and weeding on the Sports Field Car Park flower bed. Litter picking on Sheffield Road and down by the river. All this completed by local volunteers to keep our local village looking its best. Why not get involved on an ad hoc basis? Just send us a message or email [email protected]

Lots of tree trimming along Sheffield Road over the last few weeks to make it much easier to walk on the pavement, or for wheelchairs, prams etc to get by.

All done by volunteers.
