It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our gorgeous dog Hogarth ♥️
After being rescued from a Tesco car park in Ilkeston, we adopted him from Babbington Rescue in 2015 and we couldn’t feel luckier that he found us.
He had some rocky rebellious teenage years - we won’t talk too long about his various run ins with sheep…or the countless whole pizzas, Bakewell tarts or banana breads that were snatched off the kitchen counter!!
Luckily for him, he was easy to forgive because he was so beautiful and gentle and he had endless love to give (unless you’re a sheep). He was a dog of the people - we could always brag that even those who don’t like dogs loved him! And considering he was the size of a small horse, that’s a pretty big deal.
In his later years, he became more concerned with the simple life and developed a keen interest in rewilding. We’re so grateful to have had him as a guardian of the field and all its insects, trees and, most of all, its volunteers.
He was soo chuffed to have so many guaranteed petting sessions on a Monday evening by lovely friends next to a lovely campfire. And he was always happy to help clean up leftover food - especially carrot peelings!
Losing him has left a big hole in our hearts, but we’re so grateful to have had him and his love for so long.
We love you Hogarth! And we hope you’re relaxing in the big field in the sky with endless hugs to receive and carrots to eat.
