Bull Terrier Rescue Mission Rescuing Bull Terriers from the North East to the Mid Atlantic, and the Great Lakes through the Midwest The Bull Terrier Rescue Mission, Inc.

(BTR Mission/BTRM) is a 501c3 not for profit, all-volunteer, foster based organization dedicated to advocating for the health and welfare of unwanted, abused, or abandoned Bull Terriers. We work towards extracting them from their dire circumstances and placing them in homes where they can be evaluated, allowed to heal, and rehabilitated if necessary. BTRM works with animal shelters, rescue professionals, Bull Terrier owners, and veterinarians throughout the United States. If BTRM cannot provide direct support, cases are directed to appropriate organizations that can. In all cases, tireless work is gladly expended. The Bull Terrier Rescue Mission does not discriminate due to the age or health of its Bull Terriers. Professional veterinary care is provided – including spay/neuter – prior to matching each Bull Terrier with the right adoptive home. No animal is euthanized for need of medical care. That option only exists if the animal displays extreme threatening behavior towards humans, or if their health is unrecoverable. If you would like to join us in our goal to help Bull Terriers in need, please visit us at BTRMission.org. There, you can apply to become a foster or adopter, or that you're ready to volunteer for a variety of needs.

Silverwood 2026

What an honor to meet the fosters, adopters and dogs that make up the village.

Razz (and Charlotte, RIP) with his ride or die adopters Darryl and Elizabeth
Old man Titan and the indomitable Linda Gregg
One eyed Lloyd and behavior case hero Andrea
Layla and Juju - veteran rescuers (which doesn't do them justice) Stephanie and Rob. Juju reunited with her incredible breeders who I am proud to call friends
And of course, our beloved foster fail, Bean.

Not pictured: Sandler (Todd and Valerie), Memphis (Amber), John & Arlette Day, adopters of Luna (RIP) and long time mission family, Stefani and Garbanzo and , all around rescue road warrior.

It is always a gift to see you all year over year. Thank you for what you've done and what you continue to do for our cause.

Also not pictured are the hundreds upon hundreds of donors, volunteers, transporters, fosters, adopters, coordinators, social media promoters, fundraisers, trainers, kennel owners, shelter partners, educators and more who make it possible for us to bring record numbers of dogs under the mission banner and into the caring homes they deserve. We are always in your debt.

The rescue parade is my favorite part of Silverwood - not only watching the BTRM crew walk, but the many other wonderful bull terrier rescues powerfully represented and standing alongside the humble breeders and exhibitors; supporting breed preservation by turning time and attention to the dire situation in rescue.

Thank you for always reminding me what we're doing here.

Moscow has a team of people determined to give him the care and comfort he deserves.

A heartfelt thank you to the Wolfs for opening their home to Moscow and caring for him throughout his diagnostics with a veterinary hospital we work with. Having a safe, loving place to stay during that process meant so much.

Now Moscow has made the trip from Columbus, OH, to Baltimore, MD, where Bryan is welcoming him as a medical foster. Moscow needs regular X-rays and ongoing pain management, and we are so grateful to Bryan for taking on that commitment.

Thank you to our transport team—Chris, Christina, Andrew, Merrilee, and Bryan—for helping Moscow reach his next chapter.

A special thank you to Merrilee and Bryan for going the extra mile to make this journey happen. Your willingness to step up made all the difference.

Medical fostering takes time, patience, and a big heart. Moscow’s care continues, but he has some wonderful people in his corner.

Who doesn’t love a beaded Bull Terrier?

Every bead placed by hand with skill and love.

Heidi’s first Huichol bead art. A porcelain figurine base was coated with the traditional mixture of beeswax and pine pitch. She used a fine-tipped tool to place each seed bead and press them into the tacky wax. Eventually the intricate flower design was revealed. So much labor spent and respect gained for the Artisans who do this work everyday.

It’s all for the dogs! Medical, boarding, and training bills never stop for us.

Please check out some of our nuggets looking for a new home. A couple have been waiting to join our program, while a few others have been here for a bit (and recently been cleared for adoption by our medical team.)

2 to 4 year old Jane Dog Raisin came into the shelter system in Kentucky as an emaciated stray. She loves using local humans as furniture, food and gobbling it down like it’s going out of style. She seems very dog positive and has done well on meet and greets with a very large friendly male Bull Terrier.

6 year old Lucy is a refugee out of Texas. She’s sweet and mellow and lives well with a much smaller dog. She’s heart-worm positive and will need a bit medical attention that we will be responsible for but the upside is nice. She is a very friendly and mellow girl for a bull terrier.

El Guapo Chico is a four year old boy whose family just didn’t have time for the fella. A local friend generously agreed to provide him a home until a permanent one could be found. He’s good with kids (as long as they don’t pull on his ears, try and ride him like a horse or mess with him while he eats) and friendly dogs. Sometimes he gets shy around men but warms up pretty easily. He’s located in Iowa.

3ish year old Aubrey has completed her treatment for heart-worms and is finally ready to find her forever home. She needs to be in a household with a strong human woman to follow around and assist in important duties like keeping delicious things off the ground. She’s been good around dogs outside and larger sized kids.

5ish year old Margo is equally happy hanging around while you watch TV or go doom scrolling as long as she’s touching you. She did have a naughty phase where she ate something she shouldn’t have so wherever she goes, she’ll need to be crated when left alone. She does well sharing space with her canine roomate but doesn’t seek canine companionship. We think she’ll do well with children as long as they don’t pull on her ears, mess with her food or her crate or try and ride her like a donkey.

It really does..
