Hello Health Enthusiasts! 🌿Breathing is life. But for millions of people living with asthma, it doesn’t always come easy.
Asthma is a long-term condition that affects the airways in the lungs. When triggered, these airways become inflamed, narrow, and may produce excess mucus—making it harder to breathe.

It affects people of all ages, and its severity can range from mild and manageable to life-threatening if left untreated.

Here's what makes asthma tricky: it doesn't look the same for everyone. For some people, asthma is a minor nuisance. For others, it can be a major problem that interferes with daily activities and may lead to a life-threatening asthma attack.

Did You Know?
Approximately 262 to 363 million people worldwide suffer from asthma, making it a major global health issue. It is the most common chronic disease in children, causing over 450,000 deaths annually, with higher prevalence and severity often reported in women.

Causes of Asthma
It is not clear why some people get asthma and others don't, but it's probably due to a combination of environmental and inherited (genetic) factors.

Hello Health Enthusiasts! 🌿

On today's Holistique Health Thursday, we will explore alternative therapies and surgical options for those persistent cases of back or waiste pain.

Physical Therapy
A physical therapist can teach exercises to increase flexibility, strengthen back and abdominal muscles, and improve posture. Regular use of these techniques can help keep pain from returning. Physical therapists also teach how to modify movements during an episode of back pain to avoid flaring pain symptoms while staying active.

It's Exactly One Month Since Our World Optometry Day Outreach

Exactly a month ago, Monday 23rd March 2026, Holistique Public Healthcare partnered with Nigerian Optometric Association (NOA) to deliver free eye care to underserved communities in Cross River State.

Here's what we achieved together:

📊 600 beneficiaries served

Calabar: 400 | Okuku: 200

👥 Demographics: 253 men, 340 women, 8 children

🔍 388 prescription lenses dispensed on-site

🏥 257 patients referred for specialized treatment.

This initiative reinforced a truth we hold central: vision care is foundational healthcare. When a teacher can see her blackboard clearly, a farmer can inspect his crops, or a child can read without strain — entire communities benefit.

We are grateful to our partners, volunteers, and the civil servants and residents who trusted us with their care.
