Building Stronger Leaders, One Training at a Time! 🇯🇲👏🏽

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Community Safety and Security Branch (CSSB), in partnership with the Jamaica National Foundation, hosted an Area 1 Executive Training session for Police Youth Club (PYC) members.

The session focused on key areas of leadership and personal development, including psychosocial first aid, mental health and well-being, roles and responsibilities, and work plan development. The roles and responsibilities session was led by Mr. Courtney Bell, who helped equip members with knowledge to better understand their duties and responsibilities as youth leaders.

Clubs represented included Kem Park, Cauldwell, Green Island, Lucea, Adelphi, and Bickersteth Police Youth Clubs. Members of the National Executive Council were also present, including the Public Relations Officer, Island Coordinator, and Assistant Island Coordinators.

The National Police Youth Club Movement extends sincere gratitude to the CSSB and the Jamaica National Foundation for their continued investment in the development, well-being, and leadership capacity of our young people. Partnerships like these help us develop more knowledgeable, resilient, and responsible leaders who are ready to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

Together, we are helping to build a better Jamaica! 🇯🇲

🎀💗 MILES FOR MAMMOGRAM | 5K BREAST CANCER WALK

Walking for a cause that matters! 💗🎗️

The Brown’s Town Police Youth Club, led by its President, Kamal Balasal, hit the road for their 5K Breast Cancer Walk, “Miles for Mammogram,” in support of breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection.

Through initiatives like these, our young people continue to demonstrate that community service goes beyond words — it’s about taking action, spreading awareness, and making a difference.

Together, let’s keep encouraging regular screenings, supporting those affected, and reminding everyone that early detection saves lives! 🎀

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the Trelawny Community Safety and Security Branch (CSSB) hosted the Phase Two Graduation Ceremony of the Youth Empowerment and Mentorship Initiative (YEMI) at the Falmouth Police Station. Seven participants successfully completed the twelve-week programme, which focused on discipline, decision-making, personal development, responsibility and positive behavioural change.

The ceremony featured remarks from Superintendent V. Campbell, Commanding Officer for the Trelawny Division, former participant and volunteer Miss Mitchell, valedictorian Miss Jasmine Allwood, and guest speaker Mrs. Colene Sewell, Parish Coordinator for the National Council on Drug Abuse (NCDA).

Speakers encouraged the graduates to make positive choices, apply the lessons learned and recognize that their past circumstances do not define their future.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates, prizes and special awards to graduates, volunteers and programme coordinators, Constables L. Garriques and J. Kelly, in recognition of their contributions. NCDA representatives also presented awards associated with the Operation Lighthouse programme, which was incorporated into YEMI activities.

The successful completion of Phase Two highlights the continued collaboration between the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the NCDA, community stakeholders, parents and volunteers in empowering at-risk youth, strengthening community relationships and guiding young people towards personal growth and productive futures.

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, a Financial Management Workshop and account opening session was hosted at the St. Ann Division Headquarters, in collaboration with JN Bank, the St. Ann Parish Youth Council (SAPYC), and the St. Ann’s Bay Police Youth Club.

The session featured financial advisor Marick Ricketts, who led a presentation focused on building better habits, making smarter decisions, and securing a future.

Also present to support the initiative were Shavoy Cunningham of the St. Ann Parish Youth Council, along with Constable D. Davis (St. Ann PYC Coordinator) and Constable R. McKoy.
