🚨 COMMUNITY AWARENESS: MISSING PERSONS 🚨

Faranani Paralegal and Advice is deeply concerned by the increasing number of missing persons reported on a daily basis. These cases involve young children, teenagers, youth, adults, and elderly people. As a community, we cannot afford to ignore this growing concern.

We urge all community members to be vigilant and observant. Always know the whereabouts of your loved ones, regularly check on them, and maintain open communication. A few moments of attentiveness can make a significant difference.

We also encourage the responsible use of smartphones. Where possible, activate location services (GPS) on your devices. In emergency situations, this can assist family members and law enforcement agencies in locating individuals more quickly.

Community safety is everyone’s responsibility. Report suspicious activities, unfamiliar vehicles, or unusual movements within your neighbourhood. Let us be a community that knows who comes in and who goes out. By working together, we can help prevent the disappearance of our loved ones.

Parents and guardians have an important role to play. Ensure that children arrive safely at school and are collected after school. Be aware of where they spend their time, who they are with, and whether their environment is safe and secure.

Together, let us protect our families, strengthen community vigilance, and create safer communities for all.

“Your awareness today could save a life tomorrow.”

Today, Faranani Paralegal and Advice proudly joins the nation in commemorating Workers’ Day — a day that honours the resilience, dedication, and sacrifices of workers across all sectors.

We recognise that workers are the backbone of our communities and the driving force behind social and economic development. Your daily efforts, often in the face of difficult conditions, do not go unnoticed.

As an organisation committed to justice and empowerment, we reaffirm our dedication to protecting workers’ rights, promoting fair labour practices, and ensuring access to legal support for all. Every worker deserves dignity, respect, and a safe working environment.

Let this day not only be a celebration, but also a reminder that the struggle for fair treatment, equality, and justice in the workplace continues.

Happy Workers’ Day.

Today, Faranani Paralegal and Advice proudly commemorated Freedom Day alongside the Department of Health, SAPS, and fellow NPOs.

The gathering reflected the true meaning of a liberated nation, where communities can freely access essential services and engage directly with institutions that serve them.

The day was filled with vibrant activities, including games and performances, bringing people together in a spirit of unity and celebration. It stood as a powerful reminder of how far we have come. Before 1994, gatherings like these were not only discouraged but often criminalized. People risked arrest simply for coming together, as oppressive systems feared the power of united voices and shared ideas.

Today, we celebrate not just freedom, but the ability to connect, to organize, and to openly discuss the critical issues affecting our communities.

Through such engagements, we continue to build, empower, and strengthen our society.

Happening Now 📍

Faranani Paralegal and Advice is on the ground in Lagos Community, engaging directly with residents on the critical issues we face daily, from legal challenges and social ills to substance abuse and crime.

Today’s engagement has been both insightful and impactful. Community members had the opportunity to learn more about who we are, what we stand for, and the services we provide. More importantly, it created a platform for open dialogue, where meaningful questions were asked and practical knowledge was shared.

We firmly believe that real change begins with unity.
We believe in solidarity.
We believe in active community engagement.
And above all, we believe in finding sustainable solutions to the challenges affecting our communities.

Together, we can build safer, more informed, and empowered communities.

Today, Faranani Paralegal and Advice engaged with the community of Luvhaha to discuss critical legal matters and key challenges affecting residents. We are pleased to share that the engagement was productive, insightful, and well received by the community.

Among the most pressing concerns raised were water shortages, electricity challenges, poor road infrastructure, crime, and drug abuse. In response, Faranani Paralegal and Advice has made a firm commitment to actively engage with SAPS and the relevant municipal authorities to ensure these issues are addressed and sustainable solutions are implemented for the benefit of the community.

Together, we continue to be the voice of the people and a force for positive change.

Faranani Paralegal and Advice would like to raise public awareness regarding sexual offences and the serious legal consequences attached to such conduct.

A sexual offence refers to any unlawful act of a sexual nature committed without consent. This includes, but is not limited to, r**e, sexual assault, sexual harassment, indecent exposure, grooming, and exploitation, especially involving vulnerable persons such as children or individuals in positions of dependency.

In terms of South African law, particularly the Criminal Law (S*xual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, individuals found guilty of certain sexual offences may be recorded in the National Register for S*x Offenders, administered by the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development. Being listed on this register can have lifelong consequences, including restrictions on employment, especially in environments involving children, persons with disabilities, or other vulnerable groups.

Faranani Paralegal and Advice strongly urges members of the public to:

Refrain from any form of sexual misconduct in the workplace, educational institutions, or any social setting.

Understand that inappropriate behaviour, even if perceived as “minor,” can have serious legal implications.

Report any incidents of sexual offences to the relevant authorities without delay.

Ensure that offenders, particularly those in positions of trust or public office, are held accountable and, where applicable, registered accordingly.

Let us work together to create safer communities, protect our children, and uphold the dignity and rights of every individual.

Speak out. Report. Protect.
