We had a fantastic in-person meeting today. The first in 4 years! Harold delivered a speech on "Why I Joined Toastmasters and Why I Have Stayed". Jenny gave a speech called "Stuck in the Middle. Are You?" Warner served as Toastmaster and everyone participated in some form. Special thanks to member Matt with LifeCare Alliance for arranging the meeting room.

At this week's meeting, Jenny finished the Evaluation and Feedback project where you give a speech, receive feedback on the speech then give it again to show that you improved based on the feedback received. Her speech, What is Typical Anyway?, incorporated the feedback well and did a great job describing the terminology and pitfalls of terms around neuro-diversity.

Our next meeting is March 10th. To join us, please see our Meetup page here:

2Checkout Toastmasters is a club open to the public and welcomes both beginning and experienced speakers. We meet on the second and fourth Fridays of every month over lunch

At this week's meeting, we each did impromptu speeches followed by round table evaluations for each speech. This gave us each a chance to talk about something that is on our mind while practicing impromptu speaking and evaluation skills.

Our next meeting is on January 24th, and we will be returning to the standard Toastmasters format with speeches presented by Jenny and Julie. For more information, please see our Meetup event at https://www.meetup.com/toastmasters-clubs-of-columbus-and-central-ohio/events/291408388/

This week at 2Checkout Toastmasters, Julie lead us in a round table to discuss our goals for the new year, both personal and goals for our Toastmasters journey. We had a wide range of goals from the general, learning how to say no and seeing projects to completion, to specific, like finishing a specific Toastmasters Pathway. This conversation was valuable both because it allowed us to state our goals publicly and talk through ways that we as a club can help each other reach them.

Do you have professional goals that you hope to reach? 2Checkout Toastmasters meets the second and 4th Friday of every month to help you work toward your goals. Our next meeting is January 27th at noon, est. For more information, please see our Meetup event at https://www.meetup.com/toastmasters-clubs-of-columbus-and-central-ohio/events/290788714/
