Horizon Youth and Community Action HYCA is a registered charity, previously named HYA. Engages youth and adults with programmes activities to improve their health and well being.

Horizon Youth and Community Action (HYCA) a registered Charity (CIO), was previously Harrow Young Achievers. Engages youth and adults with activities and campaigns. HYCA offers mentoring, advice and guidance that enhances the standard of life of users to enable them make positve contribution to community
Their stated objectives are:

1. To act as a resource for ethnic minority young people up to

the age of 30 by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of:

(a) advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals;
(b) advancing education;
(c) relieving unemployment;
(d) providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for people living in the area of benefit who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons.

2. To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society. For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or part of society, as a result of being a member of a socially and economically deprived community.”

3. To relieve the need of African people who are in need, by reason of their age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or social circumstances in such ways as the trustees shall think fit, with particular focus on providing assistance to those affected by coronavirus (covid-19) by working in collaboration with the Local Authorities, Public Health, Community groups and local agencies to provide advice, information, guidance and access to:

a) good health services;
b) training, apprenticeship and employment;
c) legal aid;
d) transport services to and from recreational and public services;
e) financial aid and grants due to isolation and shielding;
f) to information technology at home to enable them to access the internet.”
