Great things happen when we come together! 🎨✨

Today, Lufkin Creative hosted our quarterly Arts Round Table, bringing together leaders from our local arts and cultural organizations, Visit Lufkin, and economic development to connect, collaborate, and share ideas for the future.

Lufkin’s official Cultural District designation is an incredible achievement—but it’s also just the beginning. Conversations like these help us build on that momentum, strengthen our creative economy, and create even more opportunities for arts and culture to thrive throughout our community.

The future is bright—and art is truly in our nature. 💛

So… what does Cultural District designation actually mean for Lufkin?

It’s soo much more than the title.

The designation can help strengthen cultural tourism, increase visibility for our creative community, support local economic activity, build partnerships, and make qualifying organizations eligible to apply for Cultural District Project funding through the Texas Commission on the Arts.

We put together a quick look at why this milestone matters and why we’re excited about what comes next.

Art. Culture. Community. Opportunity.
Because Art is in our Nature.

What a day for Lufkin. 💚

Today we had the opportunity to share an exciting milestone with our community at the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce First Friday Luncheon.
The Lufkin Cultural District is officially designated by the Texas Commission on the Arts , and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped bring our creative community to this moment.

Thank you to the Chamber, our partners, artists, organizations, businesses, supporters, and community members who continue to believe in what creativity can do for Lufkin.

This is just the beginning.

The Texas Commission on the Arts has officially designated the Lufkin Cultural District, recognizing the artists, organizations, businesses, creative spaces, and community experiences that make Lufkin so special.

We’re incredibly proud of how far this creative community has come — and even more excited about everything this milestone can help us build next.

More art. More connections. More opportunities. More Lufkin.

Thank you to everyone who believed in this vision, supported the work, showed up, created, collaborated, and helped make this possible. This moment belongs to our whole community. 💚
