One of the most common questions parents ask is, “My child with autism pinches a lot. What should I do?”
So here is the answer pinching can occur for different reasons. In many children, it is related to sensory processing difficulties, where the child is seeking sensory input.
In such cases, an individualized sensory integration program under the guidance of an occupational therapist, along with regular sensory exercises at home, can help reduce the behavior over time.
But the simple exercise that any parent can do with their kids at home is with Theraputty to reduce it.
If pinching is a behavioral habit, the approach is different. Avoid shouting or punishing the child. Instead, calmly stop the pinching, prevent it from continuing, and immediately redirect your child to another appropriate activity. Consistent redirection teaches the child a more appropriate way to engage while gradually reducing the unwanted behavior.
Remember, every child is different. Before trying to stop a behavior, understand why it is happening. The right intervention depends on the cause, not just the behavior itself.

✨ Building Better Spaces for Brighter Futures ✨
At Special Needs and Autism Community Centres (SAC) we believe that every child deserves an environment that inspires learning, growth, independence, and happiness.

Over the months of July and August, all of our centres in Lahore, Sialkot, and Gujranwala will be undergoing a major renovation and infrastructure upgrade. We are creating brighter rooms, more engaging therapy spaces, improved waiting areas, and child-friendly environments designed to provide an even better experience for our children and their families.
During this period, you may notice temporary changes such as the closure of certain waiting areas, adjusted seating arrangements, or minor construction activity. While we are working hard to keep all services running smoothly, we kindly ask for your patience and cooperation as we complete these improvements.
These renovations are not just about changing our buildings—they are about investing in the future of every child who walks through our doors.
Thank you for your continued trust and for being a valued part of the SAC family. We can’t wait to welcome you into our newly transformed centres.
Together, we build abilities. Together, we create futures. 💙🏗️✨

Your tone, facial expressions, excitement, pauses, and playful interaction are just as important as the activity itself. Children—especially those with speech delays or autism—learn best when therapy feels like play, not a lesson. In this reel, I’m showing why therapists often get better responses using the same farm animal board that parents have at home. It’s not about having expensive materials; it’s about how you engage with your child. Save this reel and try these techniques during your next play session.

🎨🌱 Creativity that keeps growing!

Our little artists had an unforgettable time at our Paint & Plant Workshop, where they transformed simple clay pots into colorful masterpieces and then planted seeds to take home. This beautiful activity encouraged creativity, fine motor skills, sensory exploration, patience, and a love for nature—all while having fun.

Watching children proudly paint their own pots and plant a tiny seed reminded us that, just like plants, children flourish with the right care, encouragement, and opportunities to create.

Alhamdulillah, our very first workshop for neurodivergent and neurotypical kids was a beautiful success. 💛

The vision? Less screen time. More creativity. More smiles. More childhood. 🌈✨

Here’s to creating a space where every child feels included, inspired, and free to create. 🎨🤍

Is your autistic child biting you or others? Don’t just stop the behavior—understand the reason behind it.

Biting is often not a sign of bad behavior. For many autistic children, it is a way to communicate frustration, seek oral sensory input, or regulate overwhelming emotions. Instead of punishment, identify the trigger, move the other child or person to safety, calmly redirect your child, and meet their sensory needs with appropriate alternatives such as a chewy tube, cold spoon, or ice for oral sensory stimulation when appropriate.

When we address the cause instead of just the behavior, children learn healthier ways to communicate and regulate themselves. Every child deserves understanding, not judgment.
