Grief Can Look Like…
When we picture grief, we often picture tears and sadness. But grief doesn’t always look the way we expect it to.
Grief can look like: exhaustion after a full night’s sleep.
It can look like forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating.
It can look like anger, irritability or restlessness.
It can look like wanting to be alone or desperately not wanting to be alone.
It can look like laughter in the middle of sadness.
It can look like relief, especially after a long illness or difficult caregiving journey.
It can look like returning to work, making dinner, laughing with friends and carrying on with everyday life.
And sometimes, grief can look like nothing at all from the outside.
There is no single way to grieve and no appearance that tells us how deeply someone is hurting.
Join the conversation next week where we normalize and share how grief showed up for us in unexpected ways.
