Today Machair checked out the preparations for the Halifax Charity Gala! We're very excited to be joining for the first time with a spot in the procession and a stall. It would be great to see some friendly faces, as well as sharing the Mabel's Meals story with new friends. 💜

May was a busy month for Mabel's Meals where we attended various fundraising events, selling craft and other items, spreading the word about what we do, and providing our dog food parcels to food banks which were then distributed to many dogs in need.

The main event we are attending in June is the Halifax Gala, details of which can be found on this page. Please consider buying your tickets from us as we get a donation from each ticket we sell! And if you attend, stop by and visit us to say hi!

Of course, we can only provide our food parcels because of the generous donations we receive from you, and the work done by our wonderful team of volunteers and crafters, so thank you for your continued support. But a big shout out needs to go to the following supporters who donate monthly by regular payment:

These donations provide Mabel's Meals with a stable amount of funds coming in each month, so please consider if this is a way that you too could help support us. You decide on how much to pay and no amount is too small, it all helps to support our cause!

These are various ways you can donate -

1. The easiest way is to set up Bank Transfer or Regular Payment to go direct into our Bank Account (please message for details). We have regular supporters who do this monthly and this is a great way to offer your commitment, even if it's only for a few pounds! Remember, each £9 donated will provide a food bag which could provide a medium sized dog a balanced meal for a week!

2. PayPal - search for [email protected]

3. Charity Gift Vouchers - If you would like to send someone a charity gift voucher (or have received one you need to redeem) - please consider Mabel’s Meals : https://charityvouchers.org/for-charities/

4. Employer matching - Is your employer part of the Benevity Scheme (https://benevity.com)? If so, you may be eligible for fund matching/additional funding to gift to Mabel’s Meals.

£3 for one adult or 2 children (under 5's are free!) and of every ticket sold £1.50 goes straight to us!
Send us a message to reserve yours!
Otherwise, you can always order via the QR code and the deal is the same!

On the first Weds every month we meet to discuss upcoming events, ideas, and more.
Tomorrow is next meeting. 6.30pm for general volunteers and 7.30pm for crafters at the Murgatroyd Arms, Skircoat Green.

Well, the amazing customers and colleagues Jollyes Halifax - The Pet People have done it again!

Today, we’ve collected 432 tins of dog food. Combined with the 192 tins collected earlier in May, that brings our incredible May total to 624 tins.

This has enabled us to deliver food parcels throughout May and will allow us to continue supporting our friends at Our Place Calderdale, Todmorden Food Drop In, Halifax Community Fridge and Calder Food Support throughout June.

We never take this incredible generosity and community spirit for granted.
Suffice to say, we are humbled and thankful that so many kind people are helping us deliver hope to so many dogs and their owners.

A big thank you once again to our wonderful friends at Todmorden Food Drop In for hosting us again this morning for our monthly food drop.
50 food packs flew off the shelves, that’s 50 dogs fed for at least a week.
Thanks also to the wonderful colleagues and customers at Jollyes Halifax - The Pet People for supplying the dog meat tins.

Yet another fantastic event courtesy of the Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group! Cake, coffee and crafts! All in aid of us feeding Calderdale dogs and giving support from families.
Our grand total for the day was...
🥳 £507.71! 🥳
That's at least 56 dogs fed for a week!
Thanks to so many people again for making this happen - especially the Cromwell team, our volunteers Sally Baldwin, Tiegan Searle, Jane Baker, and Beverley Macca, plus all those who chances the weather to pop in and support us, but also all those who work behind the scenes to keep the wheels turning! ❤️💜❤️

A big thank you to Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group for hosting us today and all their brilliant volunteers for looking after us!

It's a fantastic place just between Elland and Brighouse and yet still some don't know it.
Absolutely worth a trip out, especially when the visitors centre is open (Tues, Thurs and Sun) for a drink, to ask questions or get top wildlife tips from their fantastic volunteers! 💜

Our coffee and cake event is all set up and ready to go in the visitors centre at the fabulous

Come along and say hello to our lovely volunteers, Tiegan, Sally and Jane.
There are plenty of homemade cakes, handmade crafts and a tombola with some great prizes.
We are here while 3pm and we’ve heard the sun is even going to peep out! 💜 🐾 🌞
