About Us

The Centre for Philippine Concerns is the oldest Philippine solidarity group in Canada. It has been building people-to-people ties with the Philippines since 1983. Our organization has built lasting relationships with grassroots organizations in the Philippines, and has spawned numerous other community groups in Canada that nurture these connections, including in the women, youth, and labour sector. We also helped build international alliances in which we actively participate.

Many of our activities focus on informing the international community about the Philippine situation and building solidarity among the Filipino diaspora and the Canadian public at large to protect those at risk. This has included public vigils, fora, hosting visiting speakers, lobbying politicians, holding church services and much more.
